Valerie P. Owings GREAT FALLS:Mrs. Valerie Jeanette Phillips Owings of Powder Springs, Georgia and formerly of Great Falls died Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Powder Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Second Baptist Church with Rev. James Allen and Rev. Curtis Cameron officiating.Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Born March 24, 1929 in Chester, SC, Mrs. Owings was a daughter of the late William D. and Juanita Robinson Phillips.She attended the schools of South Carolina and was retired from J.P. Stevens Co., Inc.She also worked for the Mental Retardation Board in Lancaster, SC.Mrs. Owings was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and of Great Falls Eastern Star Chapter 211. She was the widow of John L. Owings. Surviving are her daughter, Bonnie King of Powder Springs, Georgia; one son, Steve Owings of Lancaster, SC; three grandchildren, Cody and Matthew King of Atlanta and Amelia Owings of Great Falls; and one great granddaughter, Ava Ferguson of Great Falls. The family will receive friends from 6:00 ~ 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Avenue, Great Falls, SC. Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association, P.O.
