Great Falls Mrs. Virginia Ruth Brown Blocker, 69, died Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at her home.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Marty Roberts officiating.Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Saturday at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC. Mrs. Blocker was born September 7, 1949 in Lancaster, SC and was a daughter of the late Jesse Barnes Brown and Olga Byars Brown.She attended the schools of Chester County and formerly employed with Chester Sportswear and later Cinderella Knitting.Mrs. Blocker was a member of Great Falls Nazarene Church. She is survived by one daughter, Melissa Hood of Great Falls; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Addison Hood of Great Falls; three sisters, Joanne Sistare (Jasper) of Lancaster, Betty Morrison (Harvey) of Richburg and Dorothy Crouch (Johnny) of Summerville; and numerous nieces and nephews.Mrs. Blocker was preceded in death by four brother, J.B. Brown, Jr., Leo Brown, Pete Brown and Paul Brown; and a sister, Callie Brown.
