Winnsboro Mrs. Virginia Morris Caughman, 87, died Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Inlet Coastal Resort in Murrells Inlet, SC.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Philip Blankenship and Rev. John David Wilson officiating.Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 6924 Wateree Rd., Great Falls, SC. Mrs. Caughman was born September 3, 1930 in Great Falls and was a daughter of the late Mathias Edwin Morris and Winnie McCombs Morris and widow of Denley C. “Charlie” Caughman.She attended the schools of Great Falls and was a homemaker.Mrs. Caughman was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she was formerlyW.M.U. director and music leader.She was a Girl Scout leader for 30 years, sponsored VBS Day Camp with her husband for many years, President of S.C. Women’s Missionary Union, traveled extensively on international mission trips and loved to play bridge with her friends.Hers was a life well lived sharing her love of hospitality and entertaining.Virginia saw every challenge as an opportunity and lived her life encouraging others. She is survived by one son, Rev. Dr. Denley Caughman, Jr. (Ann) of Marion, SC; one daughter, Carol Caughman Turner of Winnsboro, SC; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Harold Morris (Johnnie) of Greenville, SC; and one sister, Betty Jo Varnadore (Buddy) of Great Falls, SC.Mrs. Caughman was recently preceded in death by a son, W.D.
