Clinton Vivian Galloway Pendergrass, 89, formerly of Great Falls, began her journey with the Lord, Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at the Hospice of Laurens County following a brief illness. Vivian was born on July 8, 1923 and was one of seven children born to Anon John and Dora Souther Galloway of Charlotte, NC.She was the widow of Paul Philip Pendergrass and loving and beloved mother of Philip (Nancy) Pendergrass of Plains, GA and David (Gina) Pendergrass of Winnsboro, SC. Vivian attended Queens Business College in Charlotte, NC.She moved to Great Falls in the late 194Os, and worked with several local businesses, including the Bank of Great Falls, the Great Falls Insurance Agency, and Weir Fuel Company before taking over the laundromat businesses her husband Paul had purchased shortly before his death. Later she worked as caterer for the Fairfield Country Club in Winnsboro and served as the secretary for the Great Falls Presbyterian Church where she was a member.In 2002, Mrs. Pendergrass moved to the Presbyterian Home in Clinton, SC and was a resident there until her death. Vivian was predeceased by four of her sisters: Jewel Haynes of Arden, NC; Helen Percival of Rock Hill, SC, Doris Sullivan of Palm Bay, FL and Johnnie Ruth Galloway of Charlotte, NC. She is survived by her two sons and four grandchildren, Rachel and Hannah Pendergrass of Plains, GA, and Lauren and Paul Pendergrass of Winnsboro, SC. She is also survived by a sister, Nancy Carpenter of Great Falls, SC and a brother, Johnny Galloway of Belmont, NC; several brothers-in-law and their families in Mississippi and one in Florida; a sister-in-law and family in Virginia and many nieces and nephews spread around the country. A special thanks goes out to the staff of the Presbyterian Home in Clinton, SC and the Hospice of Laurens County for their love and care for Vivian. A memorial service will be held at the Great Falls Presbyterian Church, 500 Dearborn St., Great Falls, SCat 11:00 am on Saturday, June 22 with Rev.
