Walter Loyd Taylor

Mr. Walter Loyd Taylor, 93, died Tuesday, January 12, 2026. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Greenlawn Cemetery with Mr. Brice Sweatt officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Mr. Taylor was born February 12, 1932 in Kershaw, SC and was the son of the late John Walter Taylor and Helen Victoria Taylor. He attended the schools of Kershaw County and was retired from the US Postal Service as Postmaster in Liberty Hill, SC. He was a Veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War. Loyd was a Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where he was a choir member.

He is survived by his son Kenneth Taylor of Heath Springs, SC; one grandson, Zachary James Taylor of Lexington, SC; one brother, Earl Taylor (Curly) of Great Falls, SC and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 67 years, Leola Annie Slayton Taylor; two brothers, Jack and Charlie Taylor.
