Lancaster Wendy Byers Walker, 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC.A memorial service will be held at White Springs Baptist Church in Lancaster, SC at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 11, 2022, with Rev. Brad Threatt and Rev. Bobby Henderson officiating.The family will receive friends in the Family Ministry Center of the church from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Wendy was born Nov. 4, 1949 in Great Falls, SC and was a daughter of the late Helen McElduff Sneed.She was a graduate of Great Falls High School and attended USC-Lancaster.Wendy was retired from Southern Gas in Lancaster.She was a member of White Springs Baptist Church in Lancaster where she taught Sunday School, was a children’s sermon leader and sang in the choir.Wendy loved her grandchildren and was “Mimi” to them and to many other she knew and loved. She is survived by her husband of over 54 years, Larry Walker; a daughter, Shannon Langley (Chris) of Charleston, SC; a son, Devon Walker (Denise) of Lancaster, SC; five grandchildren, Blake Wright, Ashlynn Langley, Reece Walker, Andon Langley, and Brooklyn Walker; one great grandson, Nyjah Wright; and a sister, Mary Ann GarrettIn addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Gene Byers and Scott Sneed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to White Springs Baptist Church, 1249 Grace Ave., Lancaster, SC 29720.
