Great Falls Mr. William McCullough “Bill” Gambrell, Jr., died Friday, September 30, 2011 at his home.A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Batchelor officiating.Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on Tuesday at First Baptist Church, 505 Dearborn St., Great Falls, SC. Mr. Gambrell was born March 15, 1953 in Chester and was a son of the late William McCullough Gambrell, Sr. and Goldie Ann Wood Gambrell.He was a graduate of Great Falls High School and attended York Technical College.Bill was a retired master electrician having worked with Standard Products, Mack Truck, and Performance Fiber.He was a member of Masonic Lodge #277 and enjoyed working on pinball machines, restoring old automobiles, and solar collectors. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Anne McManus Gambrell; one son, Zack Gambrell and friend Kelly of Lancaster; two daughters, Rebecca Gambrell Harper and husband Will of Aiken and Mary Grace Gambrell and friend Bobby of Mooresville, NC; two granddaughters, Amelia and Macy Belle Harper of Aiken; two brothers, John Gambrell and wife, Carole of Aiken and George Gambrell of Toronto, Canada; one sister, Grace Young and husband Ron of Camden; and a number of nieces and nephews.
