William Lawson Henson

GREAT FALLS: Mr. William Lawson Henson of Chapin, SC and formerly of Great Falls died Friday, June 26, 2009 at Lexington Medical Center. He was 90. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Mount Prospect United Methodist Church in Richburg with the Rev. Doug Chambers and the Rev. John Rumford officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Born March 28, 1919 in Blackstock, SC, Mr. Henson was a son of the late William and Mattie Garrison Henson. He attended the schools of Richburg and was retired from J.P. Stevens Company.Mr. Henson served his country as a U.S. Army veteran during WWII. Surviving are his daughter, Evelyn Blackmon of Chapin; brothers, Lindsey Henson of Chester, SC and Bobby Henson of Valdese, NC; sisters, Della Rexrode of Chapin, Alice Wallace of Chester, and Flossie Henson of Valdese.He was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Varnadore Henson.
