William Ray Thacker

Great Falls Mr. William Ray Thacker, 76, died Friday, March 17, 2017 at Springs Memorial Hospital.A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at theresidence, 70 Oak Street in Great Falls, SC, with Rev. Kenny Compton officiating. Born January 4, 1941, he was a son of the late Raymond U. Thacker and Francis Ruth Trowbridge Thacker.Mr. Thacker was a high school graduate and a veteran of the U. S. Air Force before he retired from GAF in Chester.He was a member of Tabernacle Ministries. Mr. Thacker is survived by his wife of 38 years, Dovie G. Thacker of Great Falls, SC; four sons, Jeff W. Cochran of Mooresville, NC, Larry Dean Cochran on North Wilkesboro, NC, John Scott Messer and William Martin Messer both of Great Falls, SC; one sister, Gwynn Gregg of Lancaster, SC; and one brother, David Thacker of Kansas.He was preceded in death by a sister, Alberta Thacker.
