Alice Yon Vaughn

Great Falls Mrs. Alice Yon Vaughn, 87, died Sunday, November 20, 2016, at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, SC.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 23, at Great Falls Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jim Williams, Rev. Bob Moss and Rev. Dr. David Riddle officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the Session of Great Falls Presbyterian Church and members of Great Falls Lions Club.Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 22, at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC. Mrs. Vaughn was born January 19, 1929 in Anderson County, SC and was a daughter of the late William Paul Yon, Sr. and Corrine McGukin Yon.She was a graduate of Lebanon High School and Winthrop College and was a retired elementary school teacher.She was a dedicated member of Great Falls Presbyterian Church where she served as Elder and Deacon.Mrs. Vaughn served on the Board of Directors of Great Falls Hometown Association; the Board of Hazel Pittman Center; a member of Great Falls Garden Club; Friday Bridge Club and other bridge clubs; was a founding member of GRASP; and served on the Board of Greenlawn Cemetery. She is survived by two sons, Michael Evans Vaughn of Great Falls and William Brock Vaughn and wife, Shawn Dunham of Richmond, VA; one daughter, Patricia “Patti” Parker and husband Michael of Greenville, SC; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, Dan R. Yon of Anderson, SC; and one sister, Rachel Yon of Los Osos, CA. Memorials may be made to Great Falls Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 466, Great Falls, SC 29055 or to Greenlawn Cemetery, P.O.
