Mrs. Carol Elizabeth Hendricks Patterson, 68,died Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Providence Hospital in Columbia. The funeral will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Lake Wateree Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Gregory and Rev. John O’Cain officiating.Interment will be in the church cemetery. Born December 16, 1940 in Winston-Salem, NC, Mrs. Patterson was the daughter of the late Russell Ward Hendricks and Ernestine Cranfill Hendricks.A graduate of Beaufort High School she was retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of SC as a claims specialist.She enjoyed the outdoors.She was a good wife, mother and friend and will be missed for her smile and humor.She never met a stranger.She was a member of Lake Wateree Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband Edward O. Patterson; one daughter, Michelle Johnson of Franklin, IN; one son, Rev. Clayton E. Cordell of Lancaster, SC; two grandchildren, Cody & Shelby Johnson of Franklin, IN; three step-sons; David Patterson of W. Columbia, SC, Steve Patterson of Columbia, SC and Van Patterson of Pelion, SC; one step-daughter, Lisa Reed of West Columbia; one sister, Dorothy Ballard and one brother, James Hendricks both of Columbia, SC.
