Floyd Wayne Looper

Great Falls Mr. Wayne Looper, 74, died Monday, December 27, 2021, at Prisma Health Richland. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM , Friday, December 31, 2021, at Lake Wateree Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Pelham officiating.Interment will be private. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. Wayne was born June 19, 1947, in Great Falls, SC, and was a son of the late Jack C. Looper and Juanita Trotter Looper.He graduated both from Great Falls High School and York Tech. He was retired form Bowater Paper Mill and was a veteran of the US Air Force. He is survived by his wife Barbara LeonhardtLooper; two sons, Dwayne Looper (Kourtney) of Landrum, SC, Thomas Looper (Dewana) of Lexington, SC; one daughter, Kim Puckett (Bryant) of Lake Wateree, SC; nine grandchildren, Cameron, Carsten, Gabe, Jack, Jacob, Trent, Colt, Adalyn and J.D.; three sisters, Jackie Payne (Tal) of Great Falls, SC, Cathy Haynes (Charles) of Lexington, SC and Gail Vincent (Barry) of Lancaster, SC. He also leaves many other treasured family and friends. Wayne leaves a beautiful legacy behind. He was talented in many things! Wayne was a skilled electrician, an avid golfer, and a loyal Gamecocks enthusiast. His grandchildren swear he was the best bacon cook around! After retiring from Bowater, Wayne devoted extra time to his golf game and family. He also developed skill as a wood worker and made some beautiful pieces as he passed the time.
