McConnells, SC Mr. James Johnston Day, 70, died Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Atrium Health-Main in Charlotte, NC.A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, November 19 at Mitford Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Marty Roberts officiating . The family will receive friends 1:00 PM to 2:00 Pm at Mitford Baptist Church.Interment will be private. Mr. Day was born July 28, 1948 in Chester County, SC and was a son of the late James Robert Day and Carolyn Johnston Day.He attended the schools of Great Falls and was employed as an auto mechanic. He is survived by four sons, James J. Day and Collie D. Day both of Columbia, Robbie Day of Chester and Richard Day of Myrtle Beach; two daughters, Missy Panter of McConnells and Jammie Day Walden of Great Falls; thirteen grandchildren, Brennan, Callie, Brandon and Holly Day, Timmy and Jason Lee, Sebastian, Christian, Destiny and Celena Panter and C.J. and Timothy McMcMurray; one great grandson, Liam Lee; and one sister, Mary Sue Day of Pickens.
