Richard L. Morrison, Sr.

Richard L. Morrison, Sr., 77, died Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at his home.  A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home with Rev. John Epps officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Sunday at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.  Interment will be private.

Mr. Morrison was born November 12, 1947 in Chester, SC and was a son of the late Marion Harvey Morrison and Evelyn Crouch Morrison.  He was a graduate of Great Falls High School and retired from Chester County as supervisor of road maintenance.  He also worked with Springs Industries for many years. Richard was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping and fishing.  He loved time with his dogs Ruby, Dorie and "B".  Richard was a member of Cool Branch Baptist Church where he sang in the choir.

He is survived by his wife of over 33 years, Diane Holt Morrison; seven children, Richard L. Morrison, Jr. (Tammy) of Chester, Angie Morrison Leonard of Blackstock, Karen Morrison Turner (Jason) of Chester, Denise Morrison of Lancaster, David Stroud (Michelle) of Kershaw, Jamie Stroud (Sherry) of Elgin and Brian Stroud of Myrtle Beach; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Vance Morrison of Great Falls and Frank Morrison of Chester; two sisters, Katie Reeves of Great Falls and Eunice Brown (Ralph) of Tallapoosa, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by three brothers, Harvey Morrison, Ira Morrison and Wylie Morrison.
