Great Falls Mr. William Thomas “Bill” Blackmon, Sr., 83, died Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Atrium Health in Charlotte.A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 19, 2021, at Greenlawn Cemetery with Rev. Dale Walters officiating.The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the Blackmon home. Mr. Blackmon was born May 13, 1938 in Chester County, SC and was a son of the late William Lewis Blackmon and Clara Varnadore Blackmon.He attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from J.P. Stevens after more than 40 years of service.He was a member of Second Baptist Church of Great Falls.Bill enjoyed dancing and going to Blackstock Bluegrass in Blackstock.He loved attending auctions and was an outdoorsman who loved working in his yard. He is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Blackmon and Becky Blackmon both of Great Falls; and five sisters, Dorothy Ragsdale of Great Falls, Christine Morrison (Bear) of Great Falls, Irene Baker (David) of Lake Wateree, Shirley Morrison of Cheraw and Elaine Hollis of Great Falls.Bill was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Margie Williams Blackmon; a son, William T. “Ratt” Blackmon, Jr.; and a brother, James David Blackmon.
