Our History

Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home was established in July 1966 by Richard M. Dantzler and James R. Baker, becoming the first funeral home to locate in the town of Great Falls, South Carolina. The business was founded in the former residence of Mr. and Mrs. C.O. Belk, Sr., located at 26 Underwood Avenue.

In 1974, the funeral home underwent a complete remodeling and expansion to better serve families in the growing community. Upon Mr. Dantzler’s retirement in 1993, James Baker and his wife, Barbara, purchased his portion of the company and continued the tradition of compassionate, professional service that families had come to trust.

For decades, Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home has remained dedicated to honoring lives and supporting families with dignity and care.
